Sometimes a Career Break is Just What You Need!
Shining compassionate light on your experience is the first step to bringing healing and change. Once we shine this light, transformation is already in progress.
Allow me to facilitate your process through bringing light, warmth, and non-judgment, along with an eclectic mix of therapeutic tools, including Somatic Experiencing®, to all the parts of you and your experience- the challenging and supportive, each so deserving of attention.
Somatic Experiencing ®
Somatic (Body) Psychotherapy treats the whole person, integrating body, mind, emotions, and spirit, enabling you to do deeper more meaningful work in less time with more lasting results. I work with the breath, movement, inner body sensations/awareness, and access the right-brain through symbolism, intuition, & imagery. Somatic Experiencing® teaches you to track and attune to your nervous system to regulate, release trauma, empower and protect, and attend to needs and nervous system states effectively.
Hakomi
Hakomi is grounded in five principles: mindfulness, nonviolence, organicity, unity and body-mind holism. We support defenses that may arise and see them as important protectors, trust and follow what is arising in your mind/body/spirit with no agenda, and explore what arises using experiments that offer real change experiences in the present moment.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness invites us to focus on sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment. Practicing mindfulness involves breathing methods, guided imagery, and other practices to notice the signals of the body, mind, and emotions. This helps create space from habitual patterns so we can feel choice, freedom, and empowerment. Mindfulness also can provide relaxation and stress reduction.
Gestalt
Gestalt emphasizes present moment experience, the relationship between the therapist and the client, as well as the relationship between internal parts within the client. "Open Seat" work is used to dialogue between parts of the client, or people from the client's life [past/present]. Past issues are invited to be experienced in the present (through re-enactment, role play, or visualization) to interact with what is true now in the client's experience.
